Career Assessment

Take a Closer Look at Your Career Options– Let Us Help!

Calhoun’s Career Services office sponsors a helpful career assessment to assist you in discovering a profession that fits your goals, skills, and values.
  • Don’t have a clue what you want to “be” when you grow up?
  • Are you currently working, but considering a different career?
  • Have you decided to go to college or go back to finish your degree?
  • Do you need help selecting a major or program of study?
  • Do you need technical training to get one of those fast-growing “techie” jobs?

First, Take a Career Assessment on Focus2 Career

Calhoun has partnered with FOCUS 2 CAREER to provide an online interactive, self-guided career and education planning system that can help you make decisions about your future career goals and education plans.

Once you have completed your assessment, schedule an appointment with a career advisor to discuss the results.

Next, Explore Careers that Could be a Good Fit for You

Once you complete your assessment, it is time to explore your options. Visit Calhoun’s Career Coach and What Can I Do With This Major to explore careers related to the areas identified in your assessment. On these sites, you can continue to inventory your interests, explore careers and salaries, and start understanding what the educational requirements are for each.

Other Useful Assessments for Your Exploration

The Holland Code groups people on the basis of their suitability for six different categories of occupations.

The MBTI Career Report and the MBTI Profile – Career Edition are available free of charge to current Calhoun Community College students. The assessment is taken online, but an appointment is required to receive and review the results. Get a link to the assessment and request an appointment by emailing: kelli.morris@calhoun.edu
