Welcome to Calhoun’s English as a Second Language Program (ESL)

Calhoun Community College offers free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to help adults improve their English skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Our program supports learners from beginner to advanced levels, aiming to enhance communication skills for everyday life, work, and further education.

ESL Class Schedule

Classes are held twice a week with options available in the morning and evening to accommodate various schedules.

How To Enroll in the ESL Program:

Eligibility: Must be at least 16 years old and not enrolled in a K-12 school.​

Orientation & Testing: Must attend a mandatory orientation and take the TABE CLAS-E placement test to determine your class level.​

Required Documents to Bring to Orientation:

  • Valid Photo ID
  • Social Security Card or Tax ID Number
  • Proof of Residence

Note: Students under 18 must contact the program office for additional paperwork.
